As a part of the project, Mother’s Groups were formed in every ward of every VDC in the target community with the local FCHV being the leader of each group. Each Mother’s Group was then provided with a fixed amount of money as seed money to carry out a prescribed micro-credit scheme. The members of the groups have the option to loan out a desired sum of money from the collected fund to invest in income generating activities such as a small shop, animal husbandry (goats and pigs), poultry farming, vegetable farming etc., making them economically independent as well as making the fund sustainable and growing. Similarly, deaf adults were also provided with interest-free loans in order to enable them to start self-employment opportunities and live a dignified life.
