Community Based Primary Ear Care

Community Based Primary Ear Care

IMPACT Nepal runs community based primary ear care programme in several rural districts of Nepal to provide primary and secondary level ear care services to the local communities through various community based activities. These activities are targeted towards prevention of causes leading to unwanted ear disease and subsequent hearing loss. Currently, IN is running this programme in the districts of Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Siraha, Dhanusha, Udayapur, Saptari, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Doti, Dadeldhura and Kathmandu. While this programme is focused on primary & secondary level ear care, tertiary level ear care is also available to these marginalized communities through mobile ear surgery camps held in or near these districts as well as through the Ear  Care Centres  which are established by IN for the same purpose. Ear Care Centres are well equipped with facilities for tertiary level ear care.
