The disastrous earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 on 25th April, 2015 and another one of magnitude 7.3 on 12th May, 2015 followed by several major aftershocks claimed the lives of nearly nine thousand people and destroyed millions of homes, schools, health facilities and other infrastructures. With the support of Impact Foundation UK, Kadoorie Charitable Foundation (KCF), Hong Kong, Impact Norway, Impact Cambodia, Impact Bangladesh, Thai Kajima Company Ltd., Thailand and other local donors, IN has been carrying out its earthquake support programme in different phases.
During the immediate phase, IMPACT Nepal supported the earthquake victims by providing them with the much needed relief materials and conducting medical camps for the sick and injured victims. These activities were carried out in Dhuwakot VDC of Dhading, Gothpani VDC of Kabhrepalanchok, Sikre VDC of Nuwakot, Kalika VDC of Sindhupalchok, Preeti VDC of Ramechhap, as well as in pockets of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts reaching a total of 3,150 households.
During the intermediate phase, IN built a total of 965 temporary shelters using galvanized corrugated iron sheets with metallic rods for the entire households of Kalika VDC of Sindhupalchok district, some households of Preeti VDC of Ramechhap district, and some in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts to shelter the people from the 2015 monsoon rains.
IN carried out is carrying out its post-earthquake reconstruction and rehabilitation project in Bhotechaur VDC of Sindhupalchok district. During the long term phase, IN constructed 28 classrooms in 7 local schools and also retrofitted the damaged Community Health Centre in Bhotechour VDC of Sindhupalchowk district.
During the spread of COVID-19, with the financial support of Impact Foundation UK and CBM Germany, IN provided medical safety and security kits to 13 Rural/Municipalities and 6 hospitals/centres to fight against COVID.

Similarly, grocery items was provided to 1729 poor families of disabilities residing in Godawari, Gauriganga and Chure of Kailali, Krishnapur, Shuklaphanta and Laljhadi of Kanchanpur, Alital and Ganyapdhura of Dadeldhura, Jorayal of Doti, Rajdevi, Paroha, Durga Bhagawati, Rajpur of Rautahat, Birgunj of Parsa, Jitpur Simara and Parwanipur of Bara, Rajbiraj of Saptari, Triyuga of Udayapur and Siraha Municipality of Siraha district. The packaging of grocery items contained 30 kg rice, 3 kg pulses, 2 ltrs cooking oil, 2 kg salt, 2 kg sugar and 4 pcs hand washing soap.
